Tourism Whistler – #WhistlerHappyPlace

Challenge:

Generate excitement for the winter season at Whistler within the Greater Vancouver area.

Solution:

We created a pop up Whistler experience in Vancouver for two days in December. The atmosphere of the village and the magic of the mountains descended on Kitsilano as the #WhistlerHappyPlace spread good vibes on location outside of the Arc’teryx store.

Guests were invited to have their photo taken at the #WhistlerHappyPlace photo booth for a chance to win a SEASON PASS to Whistler Blackcomb. To warm up from the cold weather instant prizes and free hot chocolate were distributed at the Happy Place hot chocolate bar tucked beside an authentic retro gondola.

Results:

  • 166 users tagged #WhistlerHappyPlace for a reach of 323,969 and over 1 million impressions
  • 51% of visitors shared content on social media channels
  • 224 contest entries over two days
